![]() Commemorating the Life and Accomplishments of Sean Lough Sean Lough (AKA 'Ranch') was a dear friend, brother and son who tragically passed away in June of 2001 as a result of a mountain biking accident, while living in Richmond, Virginia. As every one that knew him will attest, Ranch was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of many people with his spirit, aspirations, humor and kindness. In his twenty-nine years of life, Ranch accomplished more than many do in a lifetime. One of his greatest attributes was his ability to live every day to its fullest and have a good time while focusing on accomplishing the high goals he set for himself. Although his life and bright future were cut short, his spirit will remain in everyone he knew. Sean had scholarship offers from many institutions such as the Air Force Academy and West Point, however Colorado State University is where Ranch ultimately decided to accept a scholarship and pursue his undergraduate studies. Upon graduating from CSU, Ranch lived in Denver and took a job with Gates Rubber Co. where he worked his way up from technician to engineer in a short period of time. Ranch then left the Gates Rubber Co. to attend graduate school at the University of Texas. He graduated with honors and an MBA with emphasis in Information Technology. After graduation, Ranch accepted a position with Honeywell were he was on the fast track towards upper management. It is felt that this scholarship in his name shall be given to an individual that exemplifies the qualities Ranch had, including a high GPA, an economic need and most of all a hearty personality and a love for life. With this scholarship fund we hope to help another young person accomplish the goals and aspirations that Ranch never had the chance to. The $4000 scholarship is awarded to a deserving student every year. |
